This Privacy Policy explains what information Vovi collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Vovi is a Telegram Mini App dating product. Because Vovi runs inside Telegram, the way we collect information is different from a typical web or mobile app.

1. Information we collect from Telegram

When you open Vovi inside Telegram, Telegram securely provides us with:

• Your Telegram user id, first name, last name, username, profile photo, and language.
• A cryptographic signature we use to verify the session is authentic.

With your explicit permission, Telegram may additionally share your phone number (if you tap "Share contact") and your write access grant (so our bot can DM you). You can refuse either and continue to use most of Vovi.

2. Information you provide

We collect what you type or upload into Vovi:

• Profile details: display name, birthdate, gender, relationship intent, height, bio, city and country, prompt answers, interests, and photos.
• Location: an approximate, coarsened point based on the city and country you enter (and, if you permit it, a device-provided geolocation). We never share your exact coordinates with other users — only approximate distance.
• Discovery preferences: age range, distance, gender, intent filter.
• Swipes, matches, unmatches, blocks, and reports.

3. Information generated by the service

• Payment records for Telegram Stars: invoice id, charge id, amount, and purpose. We need these for fraud prevention, refund handling, and accounting.
• Referral attribution data: hashed device and IP fingerprints tied to the inviter/invitee relationship. We use these to detect self-referral fraud.
• Operational logs: error traces, request metadata, and timing information we use to keep the service running.

4. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Authenticate you via Telegram's signed init data.
• Show you potential matches and apply your discovery filters.
• Send you notifications (new matches, referral rewards) through the Vovi bot, subject to your settings.
• Reconcile payments and allocate free-entry slots.
• Detect fraud, abuse, and harm — including reviewing reports submitted against other users.
• Improve Vovi — for example, by understanding which prompts lead to more matches.

5. What we do not do

• We do not read the contents of your Telegram chats. Conversations between matches happen entirely inside Telegram.
• We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not show ads or serve third-party tracking beacons inside the Mini App.

6. Who sees what

Other users of Vovi see the profile content you've marked for discovery — your photos, display name, age, approximate location, prompts, and interests. They do not see your phone number, Telegram user id, referral history, payment history, or exact coordinates.

If another user reports you, members of our safety team may see the same profile content plus the report reason and any detail the reporter added.

7. Photo storage

Photos are uploaded directly from your device to Cloudflare R2 (our CDN provider). When you delete a photo or your account, we delete the underlying object from R2 within about 60 seconds.

8. How long we keep data

We keep your profile data as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (from Settings → Delete account), we erase your profile, photos, prompts, interests, matches, and blocks within about 60 seconds.

We retain some information after deletion to detect fraud and abuse and to comply with accounting obligations:

• Referral records are kept in anonymised form — without any personal identifiers linking back to you.
• Payment records are kept as required by applicable financial laws.
• Operational logs are rotated on a short schedule and do not contain profile content.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. You can exercise most of these rights directly from inside the Mini App:

• Access and edit: the Profile screen.
• Delete: Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent.
• Notifications: Settings → Notifications.
• Blocking another user: available from their profile or match row.

For any request you cannot complete from inside the app — for example, a data portability request — contact us through the Vovi bot on Telegram.

10. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, restricted database access, and audit logs for sensitive operations. Telegram's signed init data means no one can impersonate you without also controlling your Telegram account.

11. International transfers

Vovi's infrastructure is operated in multiple regions. Your information may be stored and processed in a country other than the one you live in. When we move data across regions, we rely on the data protection measures provided by our infrastructure partners.

12. Children

Vovi is not for anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and ban the underlying Telegram account from the service.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you through the Vovi bot or inside the Mini App.
